On May 26 & June 1 the Rotary Club of Pleasanton awarded $54,000 to 14 local high school students and on June 21 awarded $22,500 to local college students who needed financial assistance. All students completed the application and interview process. They were rated on a 5 point scale: Financial Need, Presentation, Future Prospects and Community Service/Leadership. All students were very deserving. Most of the funds for these scholarships were raised through the October Spirit Run held annually in Pleasanton. | ![]() |

Goodness Village Mural Project: Goodness Village is a 28 tiny home community in Livermore on the Crosswinds Church property. This project on March 12, 2022 involved painting three murals on trailers within the community. Professional muralists drew the designs on the trailer and the volunteers did essentially a "paint by numbers" project filling in the appropriate color in each of the outlined sections. After all the background colors were painted, the muralists filled in the murals with the fine detailed designs. Please take a look at the corresponding photo slide show, and thanks to Steve Baker for adding this to our website: https://pleasantonrotary.org/photoalbums/goodness-village-mural-project | ![]() |
The Rotary Club of Pleasanton has partnered with the Rotary Club of Eziama-Sunrise In Nigeria to provide a new 6 room modern toilet facility at St. Joseph’s Girls’ College in Aba, Nigeria. It will also build and provide overhead water storage tanks, water distribution and install water fetching points, along with WASH Training for staff and students. The school has 700 girls and the existing toilet facility is too small for boarding and day students. Open defecation is common practice. | ![]() |
