On March 13th, 2025, Adwaita Mohanty from Amador Valley High School emerged as the winner of the Pleasanton Rotary Club’s prestigious Richard D. King Annual Youth Speech Contest. Delivering a compelling five-minute speech on the Rotary International theme, “Service Above Self”, Adwaita incorporated Rotary’s 4-Way Test, a guiding principle for Rotarians in everyday life.
Her outstanding performance earned her not only a $150 prize but also a chance to advance to the highly competitive Rotary Area 4 Speech Contest, where she will face off against winners from other local Rotary contests.
