Several Rotarians banded together for No-Shave November to raise awareness about men's health issues.

Rotary Social is Taken Over by Facial Hair!

No-Shave November is a men's health awareness campaign that encourages participants to grow out their hair for a month to raise awareness for cancer research, prevention, and education.

What it's about: Participants don't shave or groom for 30 days, using their newly grown facial hair as a conversation starter with other men about cancer and the need for screening.

Why it's important: No-Shave November raises awareness about men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, and encourages men to make their health a priority. It also honors cancer patients who often lose their hair during treatment.

When it started: The movement is believed to have started in 2003 when a couple of Australian friends grew mustaches.

How it's connected to Movember: Movember is a similar fundraiser that started in 2004 and is now partnered with No-Shave November.

What you can learn: You can learn more about cancer, including the various types, warning signs, and how to reduce your risk.
